About
Hello! Im Sofia, property co-host at Lake Como Italy.
I'm originally from the UK, but I've been living in Italy for many years. I studied languages at university and I can speak German and French quite well. After working for more that 10 years in a real estate at Lake Como and managing holiday rentals all over the lake, I started my own business and joined the Airbnb platform in January 2018, helping out some property owners who've become my friends over the years. I love my job, speaking to people from all over the world and always do my best to give my guests the best experience. I personally know my houses and guests' satisfaction is my top priority! I'm very pleased to be part of the community of travelers and hosts, when I can I like to meet my guests, not always possible though having properties dislocated all around the lake.
I'm also an English teacher and work in several schools with primary and secondary children and adults.
My properties include apartments with pool, detached houses in town, villas with lake view and romantic chalets for two..

LAKE COMO
Situated at the foot of the Swiss Alps in the Lombardy region of northern Italy, and not far from the hustle and bustle of Milan, Lake Como is a paradise to escape to for tourists and Italians alike.
The lake is not only a gorgeous natural wonder, but its coasts are lined up with picturesque old towns and villages that offer a fairytale scenery, gorgeous lakefront promenades, and exceptional views.
Its romantic settings are perfect for a romantic getaway, but
the many different activities that Lake Como has to offer makes it a great family holiday destination too.
My TOP 5 THINGS to do at Lake Como
◎ Visit Villa Carlotta (wonderful blooming in April-May) and Villa Balbianello (in Tremezzina).
◎ Go for a wander around Isola Comacina (you can reach it by private taxi boat or public boat service).
◎ Take a trip to Varenna, the Pearl of Lake Como
◎ Experience the lake at its best and take a boat trip to Bellagio (A MUST!) - take a glance at some of the most luxurious villas and hotels on Como Lake during your boat trip then visit the picturesque village, which has kept spots of its old Liberty mood, and displays intriguing shops for a souvenir of the lake. There you can enjoy a lunch with typical lake produce, as well as a stroll along the vibrant gardens of Villa Melzi.
◎ Take the funicular in Como and see the lake from above
◎ Spend a day on the beach: Anywhere you go you can find public beaches or secluded alcoves where you can sunbathe, relax and enjoy the panoramic view of the lake. Many of the beaches are man-made or have had sand added to natural banks along the shore. Some beaches are managed by the town and are free and open to the public, some are on private property and have an entrance fee and charge for sun beds and umbrellas.

We don't expect you to perform a full clean, however we do ask our guests to leave the kitchen and kitchen contents clean. Guests should also be aware that one of the ways booking sites asks us to review guests is on the cleanliness of a property after a stay. For us to give a guest a five star top rating we would expect everything to be put back where you found it at the start of your stay, the dishwasher having been run and emptied and the apartment left neat and tidy. That's not really a big undertaking, most guests see these things as a simple common courtesy they would do if they were staying in anyone's home as a visitor. What do we have to do before checking out?
In each apartment you'll find a welcome book that gives you lots of useful information including what you need to do prior to checkout and where you need to leave the keys. Each property is slightly different but typically we ask you to leave the kitchen and kitchen contents clean, put your rubbish bags either outside or take them to the nearest collection point and leave the keys in a designated safe place. How can we leave our feedback?
After checking out you will automatically be sent a link to our facebook review page. When you get back from your holiday, we would love to hear how your holiday went. As a business, we are continually looking for ways we can improve our service. Our customers' feedback plays a vital role in enabling us to achieve this. What if we are not happy with our property on arrival or experience problems during the stay?
We aim to provide a high level of customer service and want all of our guests to be completely happy with their holiday. However, things can be missed and if this is the case the matter should be brought to our attention as soon as possible. Please don't leave it until your last day or leave it until you have returned home to speak to us about any problems as we are then no longer in a position to help. What would happen if something got damaged at the property?
We expect that a certain amount of wear and tear is inevitable, and this applies to the occasional smashed glass or broken plate.
However, if something does get damaged while at the property, please inform us the earliest opportunity so that it can be fixed or replaced in time for the next holidaymakers.
It is sometimes reasonable to expect to pay for more serious damages and breakages such as incidents to sofas, broken windows, doors, appliances etc.
